The Leeds Development Team advised The Wilton Estate in respect of 4 Option Agreements with The Russell Group on land south of the Heywood Distribution Estate in North Manchester.

Planning Permission was secured for a £400m development which includes creation of a 1.4 mile link road from Junction 19 of the M62 to the employment areas off Pilsworth Road.

The development will unlock 1.45m sq ft of commercial floor space and will accommodate 1000 new homes.

More importantly the project also opens the door to the wider development known as the Northern Gateway as part of the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework proposals. The development proposals represent some of the largest in the UK accommodating c. 15m sq ft of commercial space and 5,500 new homes.

Carter Jonas Masterplanning team and Planning & Development North teams are involved in the project on behalf of major Landowners, The Wilton Estate, which holds 900 acres in the area.
